8 days and I'm still sick...

Category: Random Stuff | Posted by: Jay

12:30pm

8 days later and I am still sick. Yikes. Good thing I have an iPhone and a mobile app that I made to update our blog. I hope I didn't get Kris sick as well. (*Update. Yes I got Kris sick.) I'm in Urgent care and it's busy today. So what's new? Wedding plans are coming along great but there are some more details that need to be finalized. I haven't gotten seriously sick with the flu so I guess this was bound to happen. I'm just glad it was at least a month before the wedding. 32 days left, cmon team Sudafed!Ω

8:38pm

The afternoon rest helped just a little. I had Peanut keeping me company. Still feel like turd, but at least I have my antibiotics now. My bathroom looks like a pharmacy. No joke. No seriously. It really does.

Within

Category: About Us | Posted by: Jay

Even though I don't play in a band anymore, I still continue to write music. This is a song I wrote for Kristine over 7 years ago. The rendition of the song has changed from Rock Alternative to Alternative Acoustic, but the meaning of it remains the same.

This song "Within" is about our early days of when I had discovered my feelings for her.

One step closer...

Category: About Us | Posted by: Jay

So yesterday, Kris and I went to the County Recorder's Office to apply for our marriage license. You put your names down on a piece of paper, some typical personal info, and aside from the usual form signing, something big caught our attention. There was a field to enter Kristine's new married name. We never really thought of the significance of this event, but when we were there, we soon realized that the only thing left missing to being married was just a witness signature. Wow. The only way I could describe that moment to you is that you get a very warm feeling in your heart as if you saw the most romantic and heart warming movie you've ever seen. At that point in time, the 54 degree winds could not make me feel cold in my thin sweater, all the stresses of work and planning the wedding went away, and I suddendly felt the intensity of the journey we are about to take.

Sometimes you forget how long 13 years is, but at moments like these your entire life just flashes before your eyes. You remember every moment, no matter if it was bad, good, or remotely insignificant. Like the first time I heard her sweet voice, the first time I saw her beautiful face, the laughter, joy, and even the smallest of details as the grain of sand on her feet that she got from walking together at the beach. Suddenly nothing in the world matters and everything really comes into perspective. The air seems better, I have the flu but somehow I feel like a million bucks at the same time, I lost my iPhone last night and I really didn't care... It's a blissful feeling. I truly hope I can remember to dig deep and find this moment with me when times are not at it's best. I know this all seems cheesy but if you were in my shoes you'd understand why I'm on cloud 9.  I love the girl I am marrying with all my heart and I want the world to know it. 38 days remaining...

Celebrating our Engagement

Category: Wedding Stuff | Posted by: Kristine

Here are just a couple pics from our Engagement Party that our awesome family threw for us a couple of months after we got engaged - with over 100 guests, it turned out to be about half the size of our actual wedding!!  I've always loved having such a big family and now that we're getting married - it's just going to be even bigger... and I couldn't be more thrilled =)

The Bridesmaids - Part 4

Category: Friends | Posted by: Kristine

I first met Pree when I started school at FIDM - we were both in the same Apparel Manufacturing Major with a love of design.  We really bonded over our last and final project where we both got matched up to be the team's designers and found that we share a very similar aesthetic - we both LOVE Anthropologie, Marc Jacobs, and fast fashion.  Although we haven't been friends for very long, it almost seems like we've known each other forever. Anytime any cool event pops up, we both call each other, ready to go and can probably go shopping forever!  She's one of the sweetest and most humble people I know and hopefully she'll move back from Thailand soon so we can hang more. =)

The Bridesmaids - Part 3

Category: Friends | Posted by: Kristine

They're cousins!!!....identical cousins (ok well not exactly identical) but they ARE identical in the way they exude an upbeat charismatic nature with everyone they come in counter with.  Stace and Cin are my bookends - they keep me balanced.

I first met Cin when we were in grade school at Good Shepherd and we've been BFFs ever since.  She just gets me without even saying anything.  She's an extremely lively spirit with an old soul, who shares my love of neo soul, jazz, indie, and any other genre of music we just so happen to come across.  We can spend hours on end on the phone going off on tangents and can be miles away but still be connected.  Speaking of connections, I met Stace through Cin since they were cousins and since then have grown extremely close.  She's the warmhearted, always perfect hostess, who shares my difficulty in "projecting" our voices.  Although soft spoken, her caring nature and support speaks volumes.  Stace and Mike (her hubby) have been our double date go-to's, exploring different sights and restaurants, and Jay and I are lucky to have them.
